CCHD 2025 Mosquito-Borne Disease Program

Starting on Monday 5/5/25, Chester County Health Department (CCHD) will once again be conducting its yearly Mosquito-Borne Disease Control program. This includes:

Adult Mosquitoes:

·     Monitoring mosquito populations through trap deployment and collection.

·     Testing collected mosquitoes for West Nile Virus (WNV) and other mosquito-borne diseases.

·     Control treatments targeting adult mosquitoes when the need arises.

·     Responding to mosquito-related complaints.

·     Public education and outreach.

Larval Mosquitoes:

·     Collection of larval mosquitoes from standing water.

·     Treatment of larval mosquito habitat using EPA registered larval control products.

·     Public education and outreach.
