Solicitation Info for East Goshen Township Residents
The Township has recently received a number of calls regarding solicitation activity. To help keep our community informed, we’re sharing some key highlights from the Township’s Peddling & Solicitation Ordinance (Ordinance No. 169) and where you can find additional information.
As stated in Ordinance No. 169, it is unlawful for any individual without a valid Township-issued permit to engage in:
• Selling or soliciting sales of food, goods, services, or printed materials
• Soliciting donations or pledges
• Visiting private homes or operating on public streets/highways within East Goshen Township
• Does NOT require a solicitation permit if the group is not selling goods or services or soliciting donations
• Permit Required: All solicitors must first obtain a permit from the Township.
• ID Badge: Each permitted solicitor will be issued a photo ID badge by the Township, which must be worn and visible at all times. (see photo for example)
• No Uninvited Entry: Solicitors may not enter or attempt to enter a residence without the owner’s invitation or permission.
• Permitted Hours:
o Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM
o Saturday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
o Sunday: 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM
• Do Not Call Registry: Residents may opt out of solicitation by submitting a Do Not Call Registration Form to be added to the Township’s Do Not Call/Knock List.
