East Goshen Township Receives Bird Town PA Recognition!

The Conservancy Board and Environmental & Sustainability Advisory Council have worked together to have East Goshen Township recognized as a Bird Town PA. The program encourages municipalities to work towards four key strategies: Creating and Protecting Habitat, Threats to Birds, Education and Engagement and Sustainability.

Here are just some of the things each board has worked on to earn this recognition:

  • Maintaining native plants and a native pollinator garden at the Township Building
  • Planting and maintaining trees and earning Tree City USA recognition for the 4th consecutive year
  • Hosting community workshops and educational programs
  • Offering educational bird walks in our park
  • Maintaining and expanding our Bluebird box network
  • Installing Wood Duck boxes with help from the West Chester East Environmental Club

The Conservancy Board and ESAC continue to build on these efforts each year to support local wildlife and protect our natural resources. We are grateful for their hard work and honored to receive Birdtown PA recognition.
