FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps
New Preliminary FEMA Floodplain Mapping Available
- Preliminary issuance of FEMA updated floodplain mapping (portions of Chester County) and updated map products (all of Chester County) was released December 2015.
- One June 1, 2016, the formal 90-day comment period began. All comments for the updated floodplain mapping must be submitted in writing during this period. To determine if your municipality has any draft revised floodplains and should therefore consider submitting comments, please consult the Municipal Index (9/11/15).
- FEMA Region 3 has activated a temporary floodplain map viewer at http://arcg.is/2bxt3aE, which shows the floodplain zone changes between the effective Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) and the Preliminary FIRM (dated December 9, 2015).
- No floodplains will change in East Goshen with this map change because we were not included in the watershed study area; however the new maps will have updated administrative data and base layer information.
