Permits & Inspections / Code Enforcement

Starting on March 1, 2024, the Code Department will no longer mail or email approved permits. The owner or contractor is required to pick up the approved permit at the Township Building. Permits can be picked up at the office between 9am and 3pm each day.

The Code Department will protect the health, safety, welfare, natural resources and historic resources of the Township to promote and improve the quality of life for all residents in accordance with the Township vision statement and applicable plans and ordinances.

The purpose of the Building Code is to provide minimum requirements to safeguard the public safety, health and general welfare through affordability, structural strength, means of egress, stability, sanitation, light and ventilation, energy conservation and the safety of life and property from fire and other hazards.

The East Goshen Zoning Ordinance is intended promote and protect the public health and safety, prevent overcrowding of land, blights, congestion, and provide for various types of residential, commercial and industrial uses to further the goals and objectives set forth in the Township Comprehensive Plan and to encourage the appropriate reuse of historic structures.
